Youth Competitions

For the youngsters aged 16 and under, there are Junior Futsal Competitions that are sponsored by the various Junior Futsal Leagues. Generally, these are divided into boys and girls under 11 for the youngest league, girls and boys aged 12 and 13 in another league, and the remaining 14 to 16 year olds play in the older Youth Leagues for both boys and girls. The teams consist of five players, one of which is a goalkeeper and it takes to teams to start a game. There is always two referees and a timekeeper to keep the two 20 minute segments in play. This is a fantastic way to set up a competitive game that players of various abilities can be creative and inventive in how they maneuver the ball around the courts to their respective goal in hopes of scoring a point. The leagues for the kids provide assorted levels of competition so that the kids can improve their skills and enjoy the thrill of the game.

Men’s and Women’s Leagues

For those who think only the men play hard, take a look at the Women’s Indoor Futsal Leagues. They are fierce competitors, and there are several superstars that are among the best in the world. The Melbourne Indoor Soccer arena hosts exciting competition for the women’s Futsal Leagues that are as fast and exciting as their counterpart men’s Leagues. In fact there are even Mixed League competitions that take place in a variety of venues around the territory. These games are sanctioned by the International Federation and their Australian counterparts which support increasing the skills and the creativity of the players on both teams. This is a great indoor sport that is played year round.
