How to Take A Helicopter From Kathmandu To Kailash

Kailash Helicopter Tour is aimed at pilgrims who travel for a short time.

We will fly a regular flight from Kathmandu to Simikot (2,910 M) via Nepalgunj. After embarking on Simikot, we took a private helicopter to the Nepal/Tibet border town of Hilsa Land (3,704 M), enjoying the awe-inspiring natural scenery from Hilsa to Kailash Mountain and Manasarovar Lake. The journey was gentle.

If the weather is fine, we will fly to Hilsa by helicopter from Simikot around 6 AM. Therefore, everyone should be ready and on standby at the airport at 5 AM. This scenic flight takes about 20 minutes to reach Hilsa. Since our helicopters can only carry 4 to 5 (maximum) passengers at a time, we must carry out some additional shuttle flights according to group size. For those who flew to Hilsa on the first flight, it was impossible to cross the border alone. They must wait until the entire group gathers in Hilsa before entering Tibet, China. We will walk 10 minutes walk (flat road) from Hilsa to Tibet Immigration Bureau, and walk to the Chinese border to complete the immigration formalities. After meeting you here, the Tibet guide will drive from the immigration office to the town of Taklakot (4,025 M)/Purang, 30 minutes to 1 hour.
We will stay in Burang for one night to adapt to the high altitude. On the second day, drive from Burang to Mabangyongcuo, 120 kilometers away, 3 hours drive. You will have a whole day to go to the holy bath and worship Puja, or just relax by the San Mabangyongcuo Lake. We will drive you to Tachin (4,675 M) early the next morning. Darchen is a small town at the foot of Mount Gang Rinpoche. Here are the starting and ending point of the trek. The next three days are 45 kilometers from Mt. Kailash Parikrama. The specific Parikrama route is as follows
For pilgrims departing from India, you don’t have to go to Kathmandu first. You can first arrive at Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, India. Then from Lucknow to the Indonesian border town of Nepalganj to join the Kailash Mansarovar yatra. The road distance from Lucknow to Nepalgunj is 188.4 kilometers. There are 3 ways to go from Lucknow to Nepalganj, by bus, car, or train. It is recommended to take a bus, which takes 6 and a half hours and costs less than 20USD. The cheapest transportation is by train, which only costs 6USD, but the journey takes 8 hours. The fastest driving time is less than 3 hours, but the fuel cost is about 25USD.
